Bark Texture Men's Ring
Dark ring for men with bark texture from the Botanical Collection On countless walks in places near and far, I have collected and gathered small pieces of plants, with the dream to transform them into treasures and memories for eternity. With the help of a casting technique we are able to reproduce them one to one - with all their fine details, in silver or gold. The collection is born from the fascination for the fragile formations of the plant world. Unique patterns of leaves, delicate seed capsules and curved blossoms - the brilliant architecture of nature is celebrated in these pieces. Originally casted from a piece of bark found in Berlin, this oxidized silver ring still conserves the texture of the surface of the tree. The appearance of the oxidized silver will slowly change over time depending on how you wear it, so be prepared and enjoy this change as you see the piece being influenced by you.
Materials
Oxidized 925 Sterling silver
This ring is also available in light silver.
*The surface of this silver jewel is intentionally oxidized. It consists of a surface treatment (like a gold plating), which means that this colouring is only preserved for a certain period of time. In the case of jewellery that is not subject to heavy wear, such as earrings or pendants, the blackened surface remains visible for a very long time. This is because there is usually hardly any friction on the neck or ear. With arm jewellery, rings or wedding rings, this is different: here the blackened surface rubs off quickly as a result of daily wear -friction, bumping, scratching and the normal strain on the surface. In rings with a slight concave groove, where part of the silver surface is in a deeper position, these blackened surfaces are protected and last longer. This can create a nice contrast between the upper, lighter and the lower, darker areas and give a distinctive look. However, each piece can be easily and inexpensively restored to its original look by renewing the surface treatment. If you are interested in this process being renewed, please contact us.
Size
The width of the ring goes from 8,5mm on the wider part to 7mm to the narrower part.
The available ring sizes are ready for shipment. If you need a different size, please contact us, we can then make a new ring for your size, the processing time is 2 to 3 weeks.
Process
The texture of this ring originates from a real piece of bark. Using casting technique, I reproduce the structure of the plant on the surface of the ring.
Each piece comes in a black Cirer jewelry box.
Patience and care are worthwhile when determining ring sizes.
We have therefore put together some tips for you on how to measure your sizes as reliably as possible.
Measuring with metal trial rings
As fingers react to temperatures and other factors and can change their condition over the course of the day, in our experience the most reliable way to determine sizes is with a set of metal (not plastic) trial rings (e.g. this one).
It is advisable to wear the rings in the morning and evening (possibly also at night) for a longer period of time. In this way, you can develop a feeling for the right size.
We recommend separating the individual rings from the band. This requires some force, but it is worth it when determining the size.
Please keep in mind that the width of your final (wedding) ring also influences the size that you need. Generally we can say: the wider the ring rail, the bigger the ring size (as the ring covers more of your finger).
Each sample-ring from this set is about 2 mm wide, so if the ring width is e.g. 5 mm, we recommend to rather take half to one size bigger for your wedding ring than the determined size from the trial rings.
When determining the ring size, please always use a ring and NOT something flexible to measure, as this can lead to major inaccuracies!
Flexible measuring tools such as plastic measuring tapes for the fingers are unfortunately not very precise. The measuring tapes are usually much wider than the (wedding) rings and do not simulate a realistic wearing experience. In addition, a flexible measuring tape does not have a perfectly round diameter, so incorrect ring sizes can be determined.
Measuring with a well-fitting ring
Determining the ring size from the inside diameter of a ring can be somewhat inaccurate, as a difference of 1 mm can make a difference of approx. 3 ring sizes (see table below).
We therefore recommend that you either measure very precisely with a caliper gauge (including tenths of a millimetre) or send us a suitable ring.
In this case, please make sure that the ring has a similar width and fits the finger on which you would like to wear your Cirer ring.
Measurement in a goldsmith's shop or at a jeweller's
You can also have the sizes measured at a goldsmith's or jeweller's (preferably with rings of a similar widths).
However, please bear in mind that this is usually only a snapshot and that fingers can change.
