Flowring Pearl Dark Necklace
Black Pearl Necklace from the Flowring Pearls Collection.
This collection combines minimal, geometric shapes with freshwater pearls. On the side of the black ring is a dark pearl reflecting the light. This creates the visual effect of a subtle movement, the pearl appears to be gravitating around the ring. The surface of the ring is matt outside and polished on the inside. The shiny inner side differs from the rest of the matt anthracite color, creating a vivid contrast in the design of the precious metal. The necklace is a playful interpretation of traditional pearl jewellery and is light, minimal and wearable.

*About the dark finish: the surface of this silver jewelry is intentionally oxidized. It got a surface treatment (like a gold plating), which means that this coloring is only preserved for a certain period of time. On some pieces, such as earrings or pendants, the darker surface remains for a very long time for there usually is hardly any friction on the neck or ear. With arm jewelry, rings or wedding rings, the darker surface rubs off quicker as a result of daily wear - friction, bumping, scratching and the normal strain on the surface. The rings with a slight concave groove, with a part of the silver surface in a lower position, these dark surfaces are protected and last longer. This can create a nice contrast between the upper, lighter and the lower, darker parts and gives the piece a distinctive look. However, each piece can be easily and inexpensively restored to its original look by repeating the surface treatment. If you are interested in this process being renewed, please contact us.
*In jewelry making, pearls are generally glued to the pieces. In this case, the pearl is not just glued to the side of the silver disc, but to a silver pin that goes inside the pearl. This maximizes the surface contact to make it more secure.
